UFA, Inc. Delivers ATTower Tower Simulator Systems to Kent State University

Burlington, MA., October 1, 2020 – UFA, Inc. (UFA), a leading provider of Air Traffic Simulation and Voice Technologies, installed two ATTower Simulators at the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) at Kent State University (KSU).

The two ATTower simulators provide a comprehensive and immersive tower training experience.  The trainees are presented with a range of realistic controller tools including ground and air surveillance displays, weather/information/lighting displays, electronic flight strips, and voice communications system.

These ATTower systems are outfitted with UFA’s industry leading ATVoice voice recognition system allowing trainees to control simulations using proper FAA 7110.65 phraseology.  With the high fidelity out of the window views trainees are truly engaged in the training experience.

David Weisbarth, UFA’s Project Manager said of the delivery, “As an alumnus of KSU it gratifying to deliver a state-of-the-art simulator to allow KSU to continue and improve their air traffic controller training program.  KSU will also benefit from using ATTower for aviation and transportation research and development.”

KSU will use their new simulator system to connect with Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) simulators for research and development purposes as part of a State of Ohio UAS initiative. The data collected from this project will help to provide an understanding of UAS behavior in the transition into and out of controlled airspace. Partnering with KSU and their industry partners further extends UFA’s involvement in research and development and integration of UAS into the National Airspace System.
