UFA, Inc. ATTower® Simulator on display at EAA AirVenture

Burlington, MA, July 27, 2016 – UFA, Inc. (UFA), a leading provider of Air Traffic Simulation and Voice Technologies, in partnership with the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), created a unique learning environment for children at KidVenture during the 2016 Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from 25 – 31 July.

This year marked the 63rd anniversary of EAA, the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration®. UFA joined forces with NATCA to teach children ages 6 to 18 the skills of an air traffic controller and explain the role of the national airspace system. Aviation enthusiasts young and old watched NATCA representatives use three UFA ATTower simulators to control traffic at highly realistic visual recreations of BWI (Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport) and Naval Air Station Patuxent River. The students also tried their hand at controlling aircraft on the simulators using UFA’s industry-leading ATVoice voice recognition and response technology.

Through the use of UFA’s simulators, NATCA representatives are mentoring the future of the aviation industry. “The addition of UFA’s simulators allowed us to provide a more hands-on experience for the kids,” said NATCA Atlanta Enroute Center Controller, Christian Karns. “Before, we were only able to show a two-dimensional approach of air traffic. Now, we can show them a three- dimensional approach. It’s something we could never do before at KidVenture.
